I would love to be able to say that I was born to write and that I’ve been writing my whole life but that would not be true (although I did win first prize at the Kettering Eisteddfod for creative writing when I was 15, which I am still rather proud of!)
The truth is that writing kind of found me. People started to ask me to do their writing for them and before I knew it, I had had articles published, edited a book and written the copy for a few websites. And the requests keep on coming.
Why do people ask me to write for them and what does this mean for you?
I listen. I love hearing other people’s stories. I have a knack of getting right to the heart of what is important to them (I guess that’s why I am also a coach!)
I see the best in people and so when I am writing their business copy, CV or personal statement, I make sure that the thing that makes them unique and special shines through.
I LOVE words. I have a very geeky interest in grammar and language generally and a particular interest in the way in which the use of language affects our motivation and mental wellbeing. I avidly read books on neuroscience. So you can rest assured that I choose my words very carefully!
I am passionate. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I often get on my soap box about issues that are important to me. If I see injustice or inequality (particularly when it comes to education), I just can’t let it drop. I will articulate your cause or message with the same energy and passion.
I am an out-of-the-box thinker – one of the many blessings of having a neurodivergent brain!
I’m concise and accurate. After 18+ years of marking essays as an English Teacher and Examiner, I am an expert at cutting out the waffle and the comma splicing.
Oh yes, and most importantly, I have had my own tuition and coaching business now for the best part of a decade. My own website copy and blog attracts the kind of clients that I love working with and am best suited to help. I will make sure yours does too.
If your purpose in life is to help others improve their wellbeing, let me help you to get your message out there.
